Miss Tourism Zimbabwe wraps up auditions

The Final Auditions for the 2016 Miss Tourism Zimbabwe took place at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe in a wrap up of what has been a countrywide tour to find an Ambassador for Brand Zimbabwe.

The Auditions saw a bevy of beauties from all over Zimbabwe show-casing their beauty and trying to outdo each other.

Over 120 young ladies from all walks of life participated in this audition for what is now Zimbabwe’s most reputable pageant and a shortlist process is now underway.

Alson Darikayi, the Spokesman for Miss Tourism Zimbabwe, stated that the competition has been stiff this year and a list of the 18 finalists will be availed soon

“Miss Tourism Zimbabwe is the chief Public Relations Manager of the country, according to the Miss Tourism Zimbabwe Trust. This lady takes the lead in campaigns for Tourism, Investment Promotion and overall Brand Zimbabwe realizing events,”

“On the local front, Miss Tourism Zimbabwe is assisted by her two Princesses, the 1st Princess being Miss Tourism Agro, who conveys the success story of Agrarian Reform while promoting National Agrarian events.

“The Second Princess is crowned Miss City Tourism, her role being promoting cleaner cities, community engagement and investment in urban areas. All three winners’ roles cover clusters set in ZIMASSET,” Darikayi said.

He further stated that the choice of the location for the Final Audition, the National Gallery of Zimbabwe, has developed the careers of many internationally acclaimed artists hence the need to merge Tourism with the arts sector.

An anchor sponsor will be announced on Wednesday the 18th of October and a shortlist of 18 finalists will be announced on Thursday the 20th of October. Thereafter, the 18 finalists will embark on a boot camp on the 17th of November, in the run up to the main event on 25 November.
