Preparations for the 2017 edition of the Miss Tourism Zimbabwe pageant to be held on the 9th of December are on course with 15 contestants set to battle out for the coveted crown.
Wife to the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality, Walter Mzembi, Barbara said they will start receiving applications for the pageant in July with auditions set for September in all the country’s 10 provinces.
“We will start receiving applications for Miss Tourism Zimbabwe next month and the application forms are available from our website or at the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) offices around the country.
“We urge all aspiring models to start to apply. We will hold auditions in September in all the 10 provinces,
“We are happy with the progress so far and we hope it will unlock more value,” said Mzembi.
One of the sponsors of the Miss Tourism Zimbabwe, Justice Maphosa of Big Time Strategic Group, said the corporate world should lead in promoting the tourism sector image of the country.
“We really are going to do our best for the sake of developing the key facets of this nation,” Maphosa said adding that this year’s event will be bigger and better
Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, Chief Executive Officer, Karikoga Kaseke said the event is important in promoting tourism in the country.
“It is our right to do and we are happy over such an initiative for the sake of the industry at large,” he said.
This year’s Miss Tourism Zimbabwe will be held under the theme, “Sustainable Tourism for Development”.
