Celebrated cyclist, Meli Ndlovu will this year attempt another ride from Midrand South Africa to Bulawayo with support from Dingani Publishers in an effort to raise awareness on education for all in communities.
Meli hogged the limelight last year after cycling the same route of over 800 Kilometers raising awareness of COVID-19. This year, he will run under the #useofstudypacksinschools campaign. The promotion promotes the usage of study packs by Dingani Publishers in classrooms, particularly in marginalized communities.
In two days, Meli will ride from Johannesburg to Bulawayo for 900 km.
“The purpose of cycling is to get the exercise our bodies need fitness to strengthen our muscle health body. If you don’t get exercise, there are many diseases in life that may affect your body. But this year, we will do it differently. I will be sponsored or powered by Dingani publishers which is a great idea.
“Every parent loves their kids and they want them to be in school. It is important that they give children the support that we never got when we were young hence thanks to Dingani Publishers for sponsoring this ride,” Meli told 263Chat.
Dingani Publishers said their aim is to ensure that every child has study packs in schools, a move which will complement the government’s efforts of leaving no children behind through the Education 5.0 policy.
