Movement for Democratic Change President, Morgan Tsvangirai will on Saturday grace Temba Mliswa’s victory celebrations where he will jointly thank the Norton electorate for defying odds to dump Zanu PF in favor of the outspoken former Hurungwe West legislator.

Tsvangirai’s Spokesperson, Luke Tamborinyoka said the Zimbabwe’s ex-Premier will visit Norton to thank the people for making Zanu PF lose the by-election even when they went into an overdrive dishing out stands and foodstuffs.

“Notwithstanding the rigged Norton poll, President Tsvangirai will be in the town to thank the people for defying all odds and teaching the Zanu PF dictatorship a lesson that they cannot continue to take them for granted.

“The leopard has not changed its spots in terms of holding free and fair elections, but the MDC leader will thank the people for braving the heavy odds staked against their free expression,” said Tsvangirai’s spokesperson.

Tamborinyoka said Tsvangirai will take the time to explain in detail his party’s electoral demands ahead of the 2018 elections and will urge people to register to vote when the exercise is opened afresh early next as promised by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC).

However, he vowed that the party and other opposition parties under the banner of National Electoral Reform, (NERA), are not participating in elections until and unless comprehensive electoral reforms are implemented in the country.

“The MDC and other parties will continue to push for comprehensive reforms ahead of the watershed polls in 2018. In the meantime, President Tsvangirai heads for Norton to thank the people for braving it even when the electoral ground was not even,” Tamborinyoka said.
