The estranged wife of the vice President Constantino Chiwenga, Marry who is facing charges of attempted murder, fraud, money laundering and misrepresentation will spend the christmas holiday behind bars after Harare magistrate Chrispen Mberewere remanded her in custody to the 30th of December 2019.
According to state papers, Marry wanted to kill her husband while he was seeking medical attention in South Africa.
Mberewere said attempted murder is a third schedule offence, urging her to approach the High Court for bail considerations.
Apart from attempted murder charges, Marry is facing fraud charges related to several cases where she is accused of siphoning huge sums of money out of Zimbabwe through the Commercial Bank of Zimbabwe (CBZ).
Marry was arrested on Saturday and taken to Rhodesville police station.
She is going through divorce with her powerful husband.
