Mandigora sacked

Dynamos Chairman Kenny Mubaiwa fired struggling coach David Mandigora citing that he failed meet his contractual obligations at a press conference in Harare yesterday morning.

Tonderai Ndiraya have been announced as interim coach until the end of the season.

Dynamos felt that Mandigoara was not convincing enough to land fifth title in row and training session have been disrupted at Prince Edward school to announced the departure of Yogi.

Mubaiwa indicated that Mandigora failed to deliver as stipulated in his contract hence his dismissal barely two weeks into the second half of the season.

“We agreed on a performance based approach and tasked him with collecting 30 points from 15 games. He failed.

“We tried to give some time but it was not going to win us the league title and that is something we cannot accept at Dynamos,” revealed Mubaiwa.

He went on to express that at DeMbare they mainly focus on the title other than anything else and that Dynamos was a club of titles.

“At Dynamos we do not play for anything else other than the title and Mandigora failed to deliver as per contractual agreement,” said Mubaiwa.

Mandigora has been sacked two day before the crucial encounter between Dynamos and Highlanders in the third edition of the Commander Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) Charity Shield at Rufaro Stadium in Harare.

The two perennial rivals will lock horns for the first time in the final of the three-year- old tournament.

According to Alphios Makotore, who is also the Director Army Public Relations, the final of the ZNA Charities Shield has been slotted soon after league clash.

“Gate charges for the final will be US$3 for the rest of the ground, US$5 for the Upper Western Stand and US$10 for the VIP.

“Children will be asked to pay US$1 to watch the two giants in action at Rufaro stadium,” said Makotore.

The proceeds from the match will go towards supporting the challenged members of the army and their dependents.

The ZNA has five charitable organisations that include Tsang Lodge Convalescent Centre, Army Widows and Orphans Benevolent Fund, ZNA Benevolent Fund, ZNA Schools Welfare Trust Fund, as well as the ZNA Patients Welfare Fund.
