A 20 year old man was dragged to Harare magistrate court today on allegations of raping a 15 year old as defined in section 65 of the criminal law codification and reform act chapter 9.23.
Brandon Nyakabau, who resides in Stone ridge Farm Waterfalls, Harare, stood before the court, accused of raping a 15 year old.
The court heard that on the 6th of March 2016, the complainant, (name held for safety reasons) was on her way to Church when she meet one of her church members who then ordered the complainant to hand over a cellphone at her place.
On the way back, the complainant met the accused who forcefully dragged her into the bushy grass besides the road.
It is alleged that accused forced himself into the complainant and had sexual intercourse without her consent.
After the rape, the girl told her grandmother about the matter leading to the arrest of Nyakabau.
The accused was meant to face trial today,however Harare magistrate, Fadzai Mthombeni adjourned the case to 9 May as the witness to the case was absent.
