He added that in as much as there is freedom of speech, there should be demarcations between insults and freedom of speech.

He went on to say there has never been a vulgar insult on the president even from President Mugabe’s strongest rival Morgan Tsvangirai whom he described as better than the outspoken VIVA Zimbabwe leader.
“Lumumba should therefore make a public apology and retract his statements but he should know that the public is angry at him and he should not be surprised if his apology is not accepted.
“We are going to see to it that he never holds any rally of some sort because we can never be assured that he is not going to do the same. Just to be safe, we are going to stop any public meeting and we will engage the police so that we do not see a recurrence of this again,” fumed Gomwe while adding that Lumumba’s sentiments were a direct insult on the Zimbabwean soil”.
He described Lumumba’s utterance as shameful and immature.
“He was in ZANU PF for only two years and he thinks he is a grandmaster of politics? He should revisit the history of Zimbabwe and he will realize no one has ever verbally attacked the president in the public like that. We will not allow such behavior.
