The ‘two Chete’ hit maker says the 10 track album has a song for everyone, mentioning that it talks about the day to day issues happening in the lives of ordinary citizens.

“I was silent all this while because I was doing production at my studio and also perfecting my art. I believe in giving people value for their money.

“Access point reflects on the day today life of of people including the love aspect, the short comings, the upward and downward trends in life  as well putting faith in God,” he said.

Mapfumo said he collaborated with both upcoming and established artists. He also worked with various music producers in creating his latest offering.

“I worked with a lot of new artists who include Nyasha David, Munashe, Joyce, Trust and a couple of established musicians like Tererai Mugwadi and Taurai Mandebvu.

“I also employed the services of various producers who include Spirit Fingaz, DJ Tamuka, Nyasha Timbe and Azain the best maker,” he said.

The soft spoken rapper points out that people should watch out for songs like Huhwi, Skiri Rebasa and Unomupei, saying they are potential hit songs.

Leonard Mapfumo who is also the Artists Director for Jacaranda Culture and Media Cooperation JCMC is one of the pioneers of the urban groves genre.

Contrary to the controversies displayed by some urban groves pioneers, Mapfumo has manged to draw a line between his profession and social life.

“I have principles and I stick to them and I respect our values and norms. My greatest control is the fear of the Lord in me.

“To aspiring musicians I say music is a journey, you need to know that you will always meet a lot of obstacles but be resilient and keep pressing on the mark,” he said.

Leonard Mapfumo has four albums to his name, R and L released in 2005, NaMapfumo (2007), The Journey (2010), and Road to Israel (2014).
