The last Unplugged event before 2017 comes to an end roars into life this Saturday at Wingate Gold Club in Pomona amid indications that an international is set to feature at the popular concert for the first time.
Unplugged which has grown into a big family concert in Harare continues to be the most sought after event especially for those from Northern suburbs.
Speaking to 263Chat, one of the event organizers, Chiedza Danha said they are looking forward to a bigger crowd than usual as it is the last of the year.
“Its the festive season and we are really anticipating a bigger crowd than usual, unplugged is always packed but this month it will be worse,
“We also have an amazing line up of artists and for all the Hip Hop lovers this will be the place to be on the 16th of December 2017,
“We have a line up of love acts including Edith weUtonga, Transit Crew, Boi Mac & Sway th3rd, Simba Tagz, Takura and of course the resident DJs Reverb7 and TK Beatz,” she said.
She added that this month’s unplugged will be different as there will be an international act for the first performing.
“We are welcoming Tim Westwood from the UK, this is our first international act,
“As a fan responded for old school hip hop heads this is the biggest treat ever,” added Danha.
Unplugged is family event that is comfortable for all ages but this month is strictly a “No Under 18”, however a fun day for the children will be held the day before.
“Our last Unplugged each year is larger and people tend to be in a more celebratory mood, we want to be able to make sure there aren’t any mishaps especially underage drinking, that would really compromise our family friendly brand,
“We have organized a Christmas Fun day for the young children which takes place the day before at Dashi Gardens along Borrowdale road,” she said.
Danha added that they have organized tents in case of rains considering that it is an open air event.
