Local government minister, Saviour Kasukuwere has rescinded the appointment of James Mushore as Harare City Town Clerk. Mushore was recently appointed but sources say that the minister felt that he was not involved in the appointment process hence he rescinded the appointment.

A source said, “The reason we have so far is that the minister was not consulted so he acted in this way.” The other reason that was given is that Zanu PF councillors disapproved of the appointment and some sources said that the minister wanted Joice Ncube to be the Town Clerk.
James Mushore is also said to be a close relative of axed Vice President, Joice Mujuru.
The following message is said to have come from the Harare Mayor Mr Manyenyeni; “Please be advised that the minister has rescinded the resolution to appoint the new town clerk. I have received the letter.”
