Zimbabwe Tourism Authority Chief Executive Officer Karikoga Kaseke who promised the inaugural Miss Mt. Pleasant, Sikhulile Shumba a place in this year’s Miss Tourism pageant finals has become evasive, 263Chat can exclusively reveal.
In a major climb down to the promise that the ZTA boss made last week, close sources say the reigning Miss Mt Pleasant seems not to have a place in upcoming modeling pageant.
The patron of Miss Tourism Zimbabwe, Barbara Mzembi hinted that they were searching for the 15 contestants without a reserve place for the reigning Mt Pleasant beauty queen.
“We are going to look for school girls to be part of this pageant and we want to help them for their future to be bright” said Barbra Mzembi patron of Miss Tourism.
Just last week at 7 Arts Theatre, Kaseke confirmed that by virtue of being Miss Mt Pleasant, Shumba has secured a berth at this year’s Miss Tourism finals that are slated for December.
“By virtue of being crowned Miss Mt Pleasant, Shumba has automatically qualified for Miss Tourism Zimbabwe finals scheduled in December,” he said amid thunderous applause.
Pushed to comment on the latest developments, Kaseke was evasive saying he had not yet approached the Miss Tourism patron.
“I have not yet talked to the patron of the Miss Tourism Zimbabwe about the eligibility of Miss Mt Pleasant to contest in forth coming beauty pageant ” he said
