Former Harare West legislator Jessie Majome has congratulated her colleague James Maridadi on his appointment as an Ambassador by President Emmerson Mnangagwa in what appears to be a dig at the opposition MDC led by Nelson Chamisa.
Both Majome and Maridadi fell by the wayside in the 2018 general elections and have since severed ties with their party.
Posting on Twitter, Majome said;
Congratulations to His Excellency the Ambassador of Zimbabwe to Senegal His Excellency @james_maridadi ! I’m proud of him and know that my nation Zimbabwe will be represented well & our flag will fly high & resplendent! ???? Zimbabwe needs your brand of service with excellence.?? https://t.co/Btt037b0Nj
Majome previously tried her luck on the position of Prosecutor General and came out number seven. Mnangagwa later appointed Kumbirai Hodzi.
Late this week, Presidential spokesperson George Charamba hinted that Mnangagwa will continue to appoint opposition members in key government positions in what analysts described as fishing from the MDC pool.
