President Robert Mugabe, publicly registered his agony over the identifying votes of no confidence that are continuously being passed to some Zanu PF members.
This followed the passing of vote of no confidence against Secretary for Administration in the Party’s Women League, Esphinah Nhari and Spokesperson Monica Mutsvangwa who were allegedly said to be fuelling factional fights.
‘This will threaten to split the party,” said President Mugabe while addressing members of the central committee in Harare on Wednesday.
According to local media, President Mugabe who is strongly against votes of no confidence opts for a subtle way of settling issues.
“Kurwisana Hakuperi? Iwo ma vote of no confidence akauya awa ko nyaya dzacho hadzitaurirwani here?…
“Try to correct each other, warn each other before you take action. It doesn’t help us,” reports The Herald
The Herald cited the nonagenarian leader responsively confessing that Zanu PF had shortcomings, further condemning individuals whom he said wanted to advance their personal goals using the party.
“There are lies, formulation of lies, manufacturing of lies talking about the purported actions of people which never happen. Kunyepa tava vanyepi,” reports The Herald .
The state owned paper went on to quote the President saying that the Party is now full of individual who are liars.
“We go day and night wanting to get information if we can’t get it, manufacture that damages the group that we are opposed to most,” said The Herald.
President Mugabe also concurred with his wife, Grace that Zanu PF bigwigs are feeding private media with information and has warned party members against passing information which he says will be fabricated most of the times.
The passing of votes of no confidence has been propelled by the power hungry individuals who are eyeing the golden throne might President Mugabe steps down.
“Factional fights in the ruling party have seen senior party members including Joice Mujuru being booted out.
Conversely, after Mujuru was booted from the ruling party, a new group known as the ‘Generation 40’ has merged, thus, generating another tense factional rivalry as former allies become enemies.
Reports indicate the Generation 40 group is backing President Mugabe’s wife, Grace, as the next deputy president, thus, positioning her to eventually succeed the ailing president.
