Influenza Hit Tim Westwood Cancels Zim Show

United Kingdom DJ, Tim Westwood who was set to perform at the Unplugged on Saturday has postponed his African Tour on account of illness with the organizers roping in South African DJ Zinhle has been roped in to be the main act.

In a statement to 263Chat, Unplugged Zimbabwe said Westwood has cancelled his tour due to a flu.

“Tim Westwood will no longer be coming because of a case of flu, we have been working all day and Dj Zinhle will be coming to perform tomorrow. Tim Westwood postponed to 2018,” said Chiedza Danha, Unplugged organizer.

Danha noted that the cancellation of Westwood appearance was in no way as a result of any error on their part.

“It is important that Unplugged’s audience, sponsors, and partners are aware that Unplugged Zim lived up to all of its obligations in the way of fees to Mr Westwood, as well as all local regulatory bodies for clearances required for an appearance of this nature,

“This cancellation was in no way as a result of any error on Unplugged’s part,

“Nevertheless we sincerely regret the inconvenience caused and the disappointment felt, especially by our audience,” said Danha.

Tim Westwood’s management team released a statement, stating that Westwood was advised not to travel due to his illness.

“Unfortunately Tim Westwood will not be able to attend Unplugged Zimbabwe this Saturday, his doctor advised not to travel due to illness,

“There is a serious flu epidemic in the UK and unfortunately Tim Westwood has caught the influenza,

“Tim Westwood is deeply devastated that he cannot make Unplugged Zimbabwe this Saturday, 16th December 2017,

“He is looking forward to being part of Unplugged Zim in 2018,” read the statement.

While DJ Tim Westwood’s absence will be felt by both the organizers and hip hop and R&B fans, the show will continue as planned with live acts from Boi Mac & Sway th3rd, Edith WeUtonga, Transit Crew, Takura, Simba Tagz as well as resident DJs Reverb7 and TK Beatz
