Embattled Vice President, Kembo Mohadi has responded to media reports of his alleged sex scandal with four different women saying his right to privacy was infringed while insisting that he is innocent of the allegations levelled against him.
Over the past week audios on social media allege the VP was bedding married women, including a subordinate.
Addressing journalists in Harare today, Mohadi said the allegations were not only false but choreographed to soil his name.
“I have decided to come open and respond to the allegations being peddled by detractors. Despite days of weird character assassination I wish to categorically state that allegations against me are not only false but well-choreographed to demean, condescend and soil my image as a national leader and patriot,” said Mohadi.
He insisted that he is innocent and a victim of political machinations peddled through hacking and voice cloning.
“I am aware my right to privacy has been trashed in terms of Section 57 (d) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment (No 20) Act 2013 which reads as follows “every person has the right to privacy, which includes the right not to have the privacy of their communication infringed… Despite the noisy in digital media ecologies, I wish to clearly state that I am innocent and a victim of political machinations being peddled through hacking and voice cloning.”
He added “…these faceless netizens have blended well networked digital architecture to re-engineer the spaces for political demonization will not dampen my spirit as a tried and tested cadre”
Mohadi dominated local news headlines after his private communications with a string of married women some from his office where he was soliciting for sex.
The damaging reports have attracted wide condemnation with Women groups urging the Gender Commission to investigate allegations against Mohadi.
