Guspy Warrior Apologizes Over Mnangagwa Comment

Gospel music legend, Mechanic Manyeruke’s son,  Emmanuel “Guspy Warrior” Manyeruke has apologized over a comment he made on President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Facebook page after his fans labelled him a “sellout to the ghetto struggle.”
Commenting on President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Facebook post calling for national dialogue to restore order and build the country’s struggling economy, the Joze hitmaker praised the Zanu PF leader describing his move as ‘intelligent.’
This did not go down well with his fans who felt he had ‘sold-out’ the struggle while threatening not to listen to his music again.
“I apologize to the people who did not understand my comment on the President’s post that him calling for national dialogue is wisdom,” said the “Seunononga” hit-maker.

He, however, maintained that he believes dialogue is the only way that will bailout Zimbabwe from a sharp economic crisis and conflicts.

“I think dialogue is the way to go because it saves lives, I am not a political genius handitozive (I don’t know much about) politics but all I pray for is peace in this country.

“If I offended you by that comment please find it in your hearts to understand and forgive me. One love is what I know and one love is what I believe in. Listen to my song “One Love Again” and hear my point of view and not what my comment may seem to mean. Thank you for being understanding,” he said.

Music analyst Plot Mhako has however dashed to Guspy Warrior’s defence saying intimidation and threats on artists’ freedom should not be tolerated.

“Guspy Warrior should not have apologized. He said nothing wrong. We all agree with him national dialogue is needed. Intimidation & threats on artists’ freedoms should never be tolerated,” said Mhako while posting on Facebook.‬

Meanwhile, cyber-bullying has become a big challenge in Zimbabwe.

A few weeks ago, Econet Wireless founder Strive Masiyiwa and his wife were forced to close their Twitter accounts after angry Zimbabweans bombarded them with hate messages after the business tycoon had described President Emmerson Mnangagwa as sincere.
