A South Africa-based couple, Rhoda January and Victor Sibiya have taken a leaf from the gospel power couple, Olivia and Charles Charamba (Baba naMai Charamba), after storming the music scene with a co-worked song Ndovimba Nemi.
Sibiya who has been active on the music scene since 2003 has assisted his wife to join him in the highly competitive music industry.
Speaking to 263Chat, Rhoda said she has always loved singing from her kindergarten and could not make it into the studio to professionally record until now with the help of her husband, Victor, a seasoned crooner with three albums to his belt.
“I started singing as a child and knew music was my thing. I led the church kids and primary school choir. However, I encountered a couple of stumbling blocks in my recording attempts until I made it as a featured vocalist on my husband Victor Sibiya’s third album on the song Topa Mbiri.
“Then in April this year, I recorded my debut single Ndovimba Nemi which I co-wrote with my husband. It was recorded at SK Sounds Studio in Pretoria South Africa and mixed and mastered by Tawanda Midzi at Eternity Studios,” she said.
According to Rhoda Ndovimba Nemi (I Trust In You) seeks to build and strengthen believers in the face of trial and soothe troubled souls.
The single will soon be available on Oyos digital store and Rhoda is currently planning to record an album in the not so distant future.
