The ruling Zanu PF has hit back at social media critics who ridiculed its rural bakeries project saying they are empowering their members with low cost skills to produce bread, accusing the opposition MDC of training its members to demonstrate.
This follows social media stir over circulating pictures of mud bakeries at the Zanu PF headquarters in Harare.
Posting on Twitter this morning, Zanu PF said the majority of its members are in rural areas hence the idea to put up a simple low cost model that can easily be built using locally found materials.
The party said political parties needed to move from sloganeering, accusing the opposition MDC of training its members to demonstrate at the expense of empowerment initiatives.
“Lastly, what better projects is @mdczimbabwe training its members on except demonstrations and abusing prayer?,” the party said.
