
Axed National Social Security Authority (Nssa) acting general manager, Hashmon Matemera yesterday appeared in court facing charges of fraud for contravening section 5(1) of exchange control act chapter 22.5.
Matemera, 52 who is is being charged for contravening the Exchange and Control Act is said to have externalized $332, 980 while working for BankABC as a managing director.
The accused reportedly sent money to six countries namely China, Mozambique, Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, Seirra Leone and Dubai.
The accused person told the court that it is unfair to be charged alone since he was acting on behalf of his former employees, BankABC.
Harare Magistrate Tendai Mahwe postponed the case to 31 August 2016 due to extra terminal investigations that are need to be carried out in Sierra Leone.
