FC Platinum Deflated

Goals from King Nasama and Masimba Mambare cancelled out an eighth minute strike from Hilary Mugoniwa.

It was supposed to have been a sweet victory for the blue army but was shrouded with news of the accident.

Log leaders FC Platinum suffered their first defeat in over a year when they succumbed to a 2-1 loss at the hands of visiting ZPC Kariba at Mandava Stadium on Saturday.

For ZPC the win catapulted them to second position only two points separate them from the log leaders, goals from Tawanda Nyamandwe and a late Nigel Tigere strike was enough to cancel out Winston Mhango’s goal for the platinum miners.

Kelvin Kaindu saw his charges frustrated when they drew 1-all with Tsholotsho FC at White City Stadium, the hosts drew first blood with Collins Dhuwa strike on the 35th minute before Tsepo Ranthokoane’s equaliser on 63 minutes ensured a share of the spoils.

Caps United failed to capitalize on FC Platinum’s defeat when they were held to a goal less draw by visiting Triangle at the National Sports Stadium. A win for Makepekepe would have seen them assume pole position.

In the battle of cities played at Sakubva Stadium, Bulawayo City edged hosts Mutare City Rovers by 1-0. A Mkhululi Moyo 12th minute strike was enough for Bulawayo City to inflict a seventh loss of the season for the hosts.

At Baobab Stadium two goals from Ronald Chitiyo and William Manondo were enough for Harare City to overpower hosts Ngezi Platinum.

It was the first game for Moses Chunga who replaced Taurai Mangwiro who was sacked after a string of poor results.
