Elderly couple in Mabvuku imparting life skills to the youths to alleviate poverty

An elderly couple in Mabvuku has taken upon themselves to impart life survival skills to the young and unemployed youths in the area in a bid to alleviate poverty and exposure to crime at tender ages. The couple is teaching the young boys and girls to weld using iron scrap metal found on dumping sites, sculpturing fine artwork such as braai stands, fireplace anchors, hoes etc.

Harare’s high density suburbs are well known to be infested with high rate of crime due to lack of vibrant economic activities. However, without any government or NGO funding, this Mabvuku has decided to take the matter into their own hands and save the next generation from so sinking in poverty.
