DStv Brings Albert Square As EastEnders Premieres On BBC Brit

DStv is delighted to announce the launch of the hugely popular British soap, EastEnders on BBC Brit (DStv channel 120) from 19 June, weeknights at 6.30pm, enabling it to reach a bigger audience on DStv Premium, Compact +, and Compact .

 Liz Dziva, publicity and public relations manager of MultiChoice Zimbabwe said  BBC Brit will still host hugely popular series such as Top Gear and The Graham Norton Show, but will now also be the exclusive home to popular entertainment programming such as Strictly Come Dancing and new drama and comedy series including Michael McIntyre’s Big Show.

“We are  excited to introduce the scandals, romances and family dramas of  EastEnders to DStv viewers on BBC Brit. Set in London’s East End, multi award-winning EastEnders will premiere on BBC Brit from Monday 19 June at 6.30pm” she said.

Viewers can look forward to the return of familiar face Robbie Jackson (Dean Gaffney) and introduction of new characters including bad lad ‘Woody’ Woodward (Lee Ryan), business woman Fi Browning (Lisa Faulkner) and brand new family The Taylors, who are set to cause big trouble on The Square.

Set in the East End of London in the fictional Borough of Walford, the programme follows the stories of local residents and their families as they go about their daily lives in Albert Square, tackling many dilemmas that are considered to be controversial and taboo issues in British culture and social life previously unseen on United Kingdom mainstream television.

EastEnders has won a variety of different awards including nine British Academy Television Awards, four Royal Television Society Programme Awards, and 84 British Soap Awards.
