MUTARE- A 72-year old driver hit two pedestrians after losing control of his car, living one in a critical condition and later succumbed to the injuries on admission at Mutare Provincial hospital.

Mutare police confirmed the accident that occurred along the Mutare-Masvingo highway near Mupudzi Business Centre.
John Razunguzo was driving a blue Honda fit on April 22 around 1942hrs when the lights of an oncoming vehicle flashed him making him lose control of his vehicle which then veered off the road.
Manicaland Police spokesperson Inspector Tavhiringwa Kakohwa said Razunguzo hit Takunda Ndaipisa (24) and Trymore Gwarada (30) who were walking besides the road.
He rushed the two injured persons to Mutare Provincial Hospital.
Ndaipisa died on admission at the hospital while Gwarada was attended to and discharged after sustaining minor bruises on his left leg.
Razunguzo, who had no passengers on board, and escaped unharmed and reported the matter at Mutare Rural police station.
Inspector Kakohwa urged drivers to be cautious when driving to avoid unnecessary accidents.
“I urge all drivers, to be cautious to avoid accidents on the road,” said Inspector Kakohwa.
