The recently dumped Finance and Economic Development Communication Taskforce Chair William “Acie Lumumba” Mutumanje has come out guns blazing against political leaders who abuse youths saying there is no politician worth dying for.
Lumumba who exposed the rot at the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, alleging that senior officials were at the centre of the illegal foreign currency mess that caused a sharp rise in prices of basic commodities, threw a jibe at both Zanu PF and MDC for using youths without empowering them.
“A phenomenon I have never grasped is how youths who can’t afford to even look after themselves, will be willing to die for a political leader who doesn’t even know their name. #pfee or #ccc ask your leaders to empower you instead of using you. Either u being empowered or used!,” said Lumumba.
Youths have always been described as foot soldiers in most political movements with a case in point being that of former Zanu PF Secretary for Youths Affairs, Kudzanai Chipanga who was at the forefront of fighting factional wars and dared fight against the army in defence of Mr Robert Mugabe.
