Leader of the opposition political outfit, FreeZim Congress Joseph Busha has called for a complete overhaul of the ruling Zanu PF party from government while stressing that a national dialogue or any other form of pact by other political formations with the incumbent will still yield undesired remnants of the ruling party.

Busha, who lost the presidential race to President Emmerson Mnangagwa last year, says maladministration and corruption has been the hallmark of Mnangagwa since he took oath.

In an exclusive interview with 263Chat, Busha said the country needs new blood to rescue it from further damage.

“Even Government of National Unity (GNU) will not work in Zimbabwe. What we want is a total overhaul of the system. This is like a disease, where you can’t wash out some of the viruses and hope that you can recover this need a total wash off,” said Busha who also expressed skepticism over the POLAD setup.

“The dialogue won’t serve any purpose, purely because when you are dialoguing you need to be able to have the desired outcome of that dialogue,” he added.

Busha’s sentiments come at a time main opposition party, Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) has also shown indifference towards dialogue with Mnangagwa whom they still do not recognize as legitimate.

While some sections of Zimbabwean society still regard a Government of National Unity, just like the one presided over by the late President Robert Mugabe and Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai between 2009 and 2014 as the only way to rescue the country out of its misfortunes, Busha thinks otherwise.

He lashed out at the regime’s leadership over negating the country’s health system while they seek medical treatment in much developed Asian countries.

“You don’t find any solution forward if your leaders are seeking medical assistance outside the country. Once you get national leaders to attend or to visit the same hospitals the majority of Zimbabweans are facing then they get to understand the acuteness of the problem. Even if they go and still get special treatment I think just the fact of visiting Parirenyatwa or Harare Hospital will be able to indicate to them that things are not good. The only way to get out of this is to get a new administration,” he said.

Political analysts have also shared Busha’s sentiments arguing that any form of political dialogue with Mnangagwa  will only yield results favorable to the ruling party’s aspirations given that it holds military backing.
