Derby Dilemma, Mutasa’s Family Battle

This season’s Harare derby pitting Dynamos and Caps United could prove to be a difficult episode for the Mutasa family.

For Lloyd Mutasa, the Dynamos coach, this is a must win match as it comes with city bragging rights.

He will also be hoping to put past his lukewarm start to the season and collect maximum points but he is alive to the threat that comes with the ‘Green Machine’- a team that will have his elder son Wisdom on its line-up.

And Wisdom will not only be playing against his father, but his young brother Panashe who plays for Dynamos- isn’t this too much the Mutasa family?

Should the green machine emerge victorious, Mutasa could live to regret his decision to send his son on loan to Caps United, but is adamant that they should both know where their bread is battered.

In an interview with 263Chat, Mutasa urged his boys to know where their bread is buttered and enjoy their job.

“When you are given an opportunity to play at a certain team you need to know where your bread is buttered and I am eager to see a better Wisdom playing football wherever he goes and I would not mind him giving a good performance on Sunday wearing the green and white color

“As a father to wisdom I would urge him to play his best and see what he is capable of,” said Mutasa.

On Panashe who will be donning Dynamos colors, Samaita encouraged him to grab the opportunity and ignore any potential comparison with elder brother.

“If the young man is given an opportunity to play he needs to come to the party and give it a go and probably the comparison will come who knows he might be on top,” said Mutasa

The Harare derby is coming at a time when Dynamos is still searching for the first full set of points following a lukewarm start to the season which has seen them collecting a paltry three points from a possible 18. On the other hand, Caps United will be looking to capitalize on Dembare dip in form and bounce back from their 2-1 loss to Triangle FC in Chiredzi last weekend.
