Dancer Swaps Floors For Mic

Nyarie

Talented dancer Nyarai “Nyarie” Kativu will be making her debut imprint on the music scene under Bigbass Entertainment record label when she drops her debut single “You Are The One” tomorrow.

Popularly known to be a dancer, the crooner was evidently ecstatic in an interview with 263Chat as she expressed gratitude to the team that helped her discover dancing is her second-best talent to singing.

“I had always loved singing but was always inclined towards dancing.  I had always been reluctant and too occupied to pursue a music career until l met Tariro Manika who is now my manager. Him, together with my producer Ba Sushie persuaded me on until my epiphany that dancing, as much as I loved it, was only my second-best talent to singing,” she said.

Nyarie was quite a successful dancer for a country like Zimbabwe that barely pays attention to the art partnering in projects by corporates like Samsung and Population Services International (PSI) Zimbabwe.

The 25-year-old “pop-soul artist” says her debut track will sum a story of a girl “who, after exploring all corners of the worldly stuff, failed to find genuine peace and happiness within her soul. After her unsuccessful quest, she found her search answered in God, hence, the words “You Are The One” are pointing up to the Heavens.”

After “You Are The One” release, Nyarie will release another single on a reggae tip called “Break” on a date to be advised. She is also working on three more tracks that are expected to be finished by end of June.

Nyarie says her goal is to be, “that one unique pop-soul artist with an international sound straight out of Zimbabwe.”
