Controversy continues to dog the late music superstar Oliver Mtukudzi’s family with his widow Daisy, snubbing an invitation to a Friday show in which her stepdaughter, Selmor, was the headlining act.
Selmor performed together with her elder sister, Sandra at a strictly by invitation show organised by Mun Mac Media Solutions.
According to a source who preferred anonymity, Tuku’s widow could not establish a tangible excuse for her absence at an event where most family members including her daughter Samantha attended.
“There is no solid reason she gave for her no show though invitations were sent to all Mtukudzi family members. This is why you saw quite a number of Tuku’s family members,” said the source.
During her performance, Selmor recognised Samantha and other family members who were in the auditorium.
“I know my sisters are in the house, I can’t see them, Samantha where are you? Sibyl! Vana tete uko Mtukudzi family iri tii,” shouted Selmor from the stage.
However, reached for a comment, Daisy denied receiving an invitation to the show.
“I never received an invitation to the show, I have been in Madziva for a while now and at not at any point was I approached with an invitation to that show,” she said.
Most people who interacted with the late music legend attended the show including Picky Kasamba who took invited guests down memory lane with dance moves from his days with the Black Spirits.
During her performance, Selmor churned some of her late father’s hit songs including Mutavara, Hossana and many others.
