‘Corrupt’ RBZ Senior Managers cleared

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) has shockingly cleared four of its senior managers, fingered in alleged acts of corruption by controversial whistleblower, Acie Lumumba.

The managers, Mirirai Chiremba (Director Financial Intelligence), Norman Mataruka (Director Bank Supervision), Gresham Muradzikwa (Head of Security) and Azvinandawa Saburi (Director Financial Markets) were suspended following public revelations by Lumumba real name Gerald Mutumanje that they were behind the skyrocketing foreign currency rates on the parallel market.

But RBZ Governor, Dr John Mangudya cleared the quartet of any wrongdoings.

“The Bank and law enforcement agents carried out investigation and which on conclusion have revealed that Messrs Chiremba, Mataruka, Muradzikwa and Saburi were not evolved in the corrupt activities or any impropriety as alleged by Mr Mutumanje.

“The Bank would thus like to advise the public that the quartet has been accordingly absolved if any wrong doing,” said Mangudya in a statement released yesterday.

Following his brief appointment as Chairperson of a Communications Taskforce in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Developing, the controversial youthful politician went ballistic exposing the people he accused of sabotaging the economy including business tycoon linked to Sakunda Holdings, Kuda Tagwirei whom he named as the ‘Queen Bee’ as well as the central bank directors in question.
