This year’s edition of the biggest schools under 15 tournament Copa Coca-Cola was launched today in Masvingo province at Pamushana High School who are the defending champions.
Addressing delegates at the launch Coca-Cola senior brand Manager Vee Chibanda said they are expecting another thrilling tournament.
“We are expecting another thrilling tournament this year. Every school wants to win this prestigious tournament and competition is growing with each edition. The tournament has been pivotal in identifying and nurturing soccer talent
“What is most exciting is that we have managed to spread the game across the breadth of the country including to some remote schools
She added that they are happy to continue with the sponsership[ despite the economic situation currently prevailing int eh country.
“We are happy as Coca-Cola that we have been able to maintain our sponsorship at grassroots soccer for 31 years, regardless of the environment,” said Chibanda
The tournament will kick off with zonal games on 24 May with winners progressing to the district games set for 7 June.
