A forty-two year old woman-Pauline Rusenza from the small farming town of Concession in Mashonaland Central today emerged the winner of the ZWL$ 1 million cash prize in the Zimgold Millionaire Promotion which ran from the 2nd of October to the 30th of November 2020.
The promotion also witnessed hundreds of Zimgold customers walking away with daily cash prizes for simply buying a box of Zimgold cooking oil during the promotion as a precursor to the grand draw for the ultimate ZWL$ 1 million.
“I wasn’t looking forward to this. I thank Zimgold because with the three boxes of cooking oil that I bought I am a millionaire today,” said Rusenza, a single mother of two.
Rusenza runs a small tuck-shop in Concession and plans to buy a housing stand and build a home for her two daughters aged 21 and 15 years old from the cash prize.
“I want to buy a stand and build a house,” she said.
The promotion was part of Zimgold’s parent company-Pure Oils Industries’ strategy to promote the Zimgold cooking oil brand.
“Although 2020 was a difficult year due to the Covid-19 outbreak, we felt that we needed to spread the love and cheer our customers. We launched the ZimGold Millionaire promotion which saw more than 300 lucky shoppers walking away with cash prizes as high as $100,000ZWL to bring back the smiles on our customers and to change their lives,” said Pure Oils Head of Marketing and Public Relations Manager, Lesley Gibbons.
The company also took the opportunity to unveil the winners of the Zimgold master’s degrees scholarships.
This year 2 female students Christabel Madzinga, a University of Zimbabwe graduate, and Tsitsi Zendera a Chinhoyi University of Technology graduate have been selected and will be going to study for their master’s degrees in technology.
