President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed former Zimbabwe Defence Forces Commander, Constantino Chiwenga and former State Security Minister, Kembo Mohadi as the ruling Zanu PF’s new Vice Presidents and Second Secretaries.
In a statement released by Presidential Spokesperson, George Charamba, the party appointments are with immediate effect.
Chiwenga and Mohadi’s appointments to the party’s second influential positions will likely be followed by their swearing in as Mnangagwa’s deputies in government.
Chiwenga recently retired from his position as the Commander Defence Forces with Mnangagwa telling a gathering of Zimbabweans in South Africa this week that he will be redeployed in government.
Mohadi is the current Defence and War Veterans Minister.
