Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader, Nelson Chamisa Sunday heaped praise on Thokozani Khupe’s mobilization prowess following the party’s victory in Bulilima.
CCC won two of three council wards previously held by ZanuPF in yesterday’s by-elections.
”We’re a CITIZENS MOVEMENT.Thanks to our ground forces,the Change Champions. Kudos to diaspora for the support.All glory be to God,” the opposition leader posted on Twitter.
This was before one of his followers tasked him to recognize the efforts made by Khupe to mobilize for votes during campaigning period.
“Nothing beats hardwork! She is a workhorse,” Chamisa said.
He further stated :”We appreciate each and every effort for change. We salute all our Change Champions.”
Chamisa and Khupe became sworn enemies soon after the death of former MDC-T leader, Morgan Tsvangirai as power struggles overshadowed the funeral of the late trade unionist!
Khupe claimed ownership of the MDC-T party and the courts ruled in her favor, leaving Chamisa “homeless”
He subsequently formed the CCC which has become the major opposition party in a space of seven months.
Khupe was to face resistance from Douglas Mwonzora who also claimed and assumed the leadership of the MDC Alliance leaving Khupe destitute.
She then joined the CCC bandwagon where she is a card carrying member but has been instrumental in lobbying for votes in all by-elections.
