Local financial institution, CBZ Holdings has donated $2500 to the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZimParks) towards awareness campaign programs in schools throughout Zimbabwe.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, CBZ Holdings Acting Group Chief Executive Officer, Peter Zimunya said the donation will help ZimParks wildlife clubs in schools to educate children on how to conserve and manage wildlife resources in Zimbabwe.
“Successful mobilization of resources and promotional materials will enable ZimParks to roll out their programs nationwide.
“CBZ Holdings is committed to continuously play a pivotal role in promoting the education sector in Zimbabwe. Our smart partnership with ZimParks will help promote wildlife clubs in schools thus enhancing awareness within the local communities that wildlife must be preserved for our future generations.
“This will also help young Zimbabweans to learn the knowledge and skills and develop attitudes they need to help conserve their wildlife and environment,” said Zimunya.
Accepting the donation, ZimParks Director General, Fulton Mangwanya paid homage to CBZ Holdings saying the gesture is a welcome especially now that the authority is calling on all stakeholders to come together and help in the conservation fight.
“ZimParks needs all the support from all stakeholders to safeguard the environment for future use. This donation will help us in our quest to educate the children on the importance of conservation,” said Mangwanya.
