Can Dynamos, Bosso win?

Following a turbulent week in which hooliganism took its ugly head at Barbourfields Stadium last week, a full programme of the Castle lager Premier Soccer league is on this weekend.

By Elia Ntali

Bulawayo giants Highlanders will make the long trip to Kariba’s Nyamhunga Stadium for a date with ZPC Kariba in what promises to be an explosive encounter.

Bosso have accumulated just two points out of a possible twelve in their last four matches a situation that does not guarantee Erol Akbay’s job as coach.

Fifth placed ZPC Kariba who last week registered their first victory in five matches when they beat Chapungu at Ascot stadium will be looking forward to add more misery to the Bulawayo giants.

PREDICTION: A win for ZPC Kariba

How Mine will host 13th placed Chapungu at Luveve hoping to prove that their 2-0 away win over high flying Ngezi Platinum was no fluke. For Chapungu it will be a tall order as they lost their last encounter one nil to ZPC Kariba and the John Nyikadzino coached side will be looking for maximum points to avoid the dreaded chop . How Mine are seventh on the log.

PREDICTION: A How Mine win

Fourteenth placed Mutare City Rovers will host twelfth placed Hwange at Sakubva Stadium to complete Saturday’s encounters. Mutare City who risk losing three points after using a suspended player in their 1-all draw away to log leaders FC Platinum will be hoping to put aside the administrative issue and collect maximum points.

On Sunday Dynamos will face a daunting task against Moses Chunga’s Harare City at the ceremonial home of football.

Dynamos who have developed a knack of drawing after going for five matches without collecting maximum points in which they lost one to bottom of the table Border Strikers.

The Lloyd Mutasa coached side has been hogged by allegations of insubordination and drug abuse among senior players.

For Chunga it will be the first time as Harare City coach that he faces the team that gave him fame and having a pool of talented players will give him an edge.

PREDICTION: another draw for Dynamos

Second placed Caps United will make the trip to the City of Kings and Queens when they take on stubborn Bulawayo City at Barbourfields Stadium.

Makepekepe who have been good on the road will be hoping to put a solid performance that has seen them occupy second position. Their biggest let down has been the strike force which has been missing chances match after match.

Chicken Inn who felt robbed of a goal in their temperament match against Highlanders will take on Tsholotsho at Luveve Stadium. The gamecocks who scored what looked like a last gasp genuine goal will be hoping to put behind that fateful event with a victory.

The Rahman Gumbo coached side is on eleventh position while their opponents are on fifteenth position.
