The African Music Development Programme (AMDP) is organizing the inaugural IMPACT Music Conference centered on the convergence of music and technology in Africa. The conference will run over two days, 28 and 29 April 2015, during the Harare International Festival of the Arts (HIFA) in Zimbabwe.
The conference will feature talks, panel discussions and presentations by some of the most innovative and successful minds in the music and tech sector. The conference will present discussions on a wide variety of topics around music and technology, including content creation online, digital distribution, new revenue models in music, current and future state of the music industry and the role technology will play in shaping these. Speakers include Ghanaian hip-hop phenomenon M.anifest, Nic Burger (Kleek Africa/Universal Records), Yoel Kenan of Africori, Phiona Okumu of Afripop, Virgine Berger (Don’t Believe the Hype), Tehn Diamond (Zim Music Star), Emeline Wraith (Remote-Goat), Teju Ajani (Youtube SSA), Nkiru Balonwu (Spinlet CEO) and many more!
IMPACT Music Conference will also feature the hottest ideas in music that are creatively innovating in the development of the sector on the continent. If you are a talented, creative entrepreneur using digital tools to innovate in the music sector you are invited to submit your project for consideration. Selected ideas will have a chance to pitch to a community of peers, music and creative business experts. They will receive one-on-one feedback, input and an opportunity to network with some of best in the business (music executives, creative businesses and tech gurus).

Selection criteria:
- New business idea (no more than 2 years)
- Focus is on MUSIC
- Able to demonstrate a positive impact for potential partners
- Be creative, innovative, scalable with growth potential
- Africa based
The deadline for applications is 25 March 2015. Winners will be notified by end of March/early April. For those residing outside of Zimbabwe, travel and accommodation will be covered by AMDP.
