“Busha Will Win Presidential Elections”

Supporters of businessman-cum-politician and leader of FreeZim Congres party, Joseph Makamba Busha say they are 100% sure that, despite being little known, their leader will emerge the winner in the elections pencilled for July 30.

Busha is among the more than 120 presidential aspirants vying for the country’s number one job.

His supporters say if they are allowed to campaign freely, there is no shadow of a doubt that their leader will romp to victory in July.

Speaking to 263Chat on the sidelines of the party’s rally in Harare, today, scores of supporters voiced their optimism saying Busha will usher a new Zimbabwe which will cater for the needs of women and youth.

“With the way things are going and looking at how disorganised other parties are doing their businesses, there is no doubt that our president (Busha) will emerge victorious on July 30. What we only need is to be allowed to campaign freely so that we reach out to all corners of the country,” said Lindsay Kativhu, who was among several of the party’s supporters who were ferried from Mutoko to attend the rally.

Another supporter, a former liberation war collaborator (chimbwido), said they will make sure that Busha gets into power in order to address the needs of the liberation war heroes and collaborators who are being sidelined by the President Emmerson Mnangagwa led regime.

“I want him to win so that maybe our issues, which the Zanu-PF government has failed to address, can be dealt with. I’m sure every war collaborator will vote for Busha because, if his promises are to be believed, we will live a better life than we are living right now,” voiced Emmaculate Ndoro.

Some said they want the South African based businessman to win because they believe he will bring about employment opportunities for the youth who now spend most of their time abusing drugs.

“I want to vote for Busha because he has promised us a revival of industries which will bring about the much-needed jobs and will likely reduce drug abuse by the youths, a scourge which continues to destroy their future. So to me, Busha represents the future and if elected, which I know he will, then all our problems will be a thing of the past,” said Anselmo Muronzi from Mabvuku, Harare.

Zimbabwe has one of the highest unemployment rates with unconfirmed figures pointing to a rate of more than 90%.

“Our children are not going to school, we have been suffering for too long and we need change. We are tired of this old politician. It is time for people like Busha to come to our rescue,” said one youth identified as Martha Chirwa while showing drugs which she takes.

Another young person, Loice Shamba, said she has never seen a better life since birth and her future lie in Busha.

“If you look at me, I’m already drunk and that is because I do not have anything to do. I have a child who needs to be taken care of but I cannot do that when I’m unemployed, so my wish is for Busha to win and hopefully, that can lead to my redemption.I need to stop taking these drugs which are destroying me slowly.” she said while holding back her tears.

However, while some were optimistic, others remained doubtful of their candidate’s prospects of winning saying he needed more time.

“Realistically speaking, Busha will not win this election. The reason is that he hasn’t been on the ground to engage in campaigns. If you look at my rural area in Mutoko, where he hails from, he is not known by a lot of people, what he should have done is come back earlier from South Africa and campaign rigorously,” noted Adrian Chiveso.

“Busha has good policies but if we are to be honest he will not win. The game is between Mnangagwa and MDC Alliance leader, Nelson Chamisa. Those are the people who will be fighting for the presidency. I hope he will come back stronger in 2023,” said Mugove.

Addressing the same gathering, Busha said both Mnangagwa and Chamisa are not fit for the presidency as they do not the aspirations of the people at heart.
