Former Highfield legislator, Psychology Maziwisa and his accomplice Oscar Pambuka have been released from prison on $800 bail pending appeal.
Through their lawyer Jonathan Samkange, the duo stood before Harare Magistrate Lazini Ncube yesterday seeking to approach a higher court to get a lighter and friendly sentence.
According to Samkange’s argument, his application was based on the feeling that the High Court will have a different view of the case with community service sentence preferable and understandable.
Samkange further argued that the sentence was too harsh for such an amount of money and that they were to pay back money together with the jail term.
