Harare Magistrate Tendai Mahwe has granted $50 bail pending trial to ten people who allegedly participated in ‘violent’ protests in the capital last week on Friday.
The group is alleged to be part of a mob which was arrested on public violence charges while lobbying for electoral reforms.
However 59 other protesters have been denied bail. Among those granted bail is freelance journalist, James Jemwa.
Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights said they will challenge ruling and will fight for the others to e granted bail.
