Opposition politician Tendai Biti has shifted goal posts on his request to be furnished with a trial date and has told the Harare Magistrates Court to wait on his High Court challenge against improper arrest.
State prosecutor, Michael Reza had provided Biti with three trial dates which are 29, 30 and 31 October to finish the case.
Biti who is being represented by Aleck Muchadehama and Jeremiah Bamu argued that he was improperly arrested hence his decision to appeal at the High Court.
He insisted that he would want to go to High court first before the trial but Harare Magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwagwa proceeded to set the 12th of November as a trial date.
Biti has previously insisted that the state was taking long to provide him with a trial date.
The former Finance Minister is facing charges of inciting public violence during the 2018 presidential election and was arrested while attempting to cross the Zambia to seek political asylum.
