Chief Prosecutor Michael Reza has dropped another bombshell in the trial of MDC Deputy chairperson Tendai Biti’s after he called trial magistrate Gloria Takundwa stupid.
Reza who was recused from the case after being proven impartial took another sword and blasted magistrate Takundwa for allowing the media to live stream Biti’s trial.
In the massage, Reza said that the magistrate was being stupid for failing to seek authority from Chief Justice Luke Malamva before ruling on the application for live-streaming of court proceedings.
“Comrade Mpofu. Its Reza, how are you. Another strange ruling by the magistrate trying Tendai Biti. THEY APPLIED FOR LIVE STREAMING OF THE CASE with vameras and journalists in court and proccedings beamed all over the world. She has juat agreed to that without authority of a boss the chief justice. She is either very brave or very stupid or both. Kkkkkk” reads the massage which was sent to Thabani Mpofu a prosecutor from President Mnangagwa’s special rosecutin unit
Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa who is representing Biti said that this issue should be investigated since it is contemptous.
She said that it shows that there is no freedom in court since the magistrates are supossed to seek authority from their bosses before making rulings.
