Only a few hours remain before the biggest voter registration party gets under way at the Hellenic Sports Club featuring Killer T, EX-Q, Cindy,Sandra Ndebele, Takura, Jah Signal among others.
The party which will be hosted by the Election Resource Centre (ERC) is meant to mobilise youths in Harare to go and register to vote ahead of the 2018 elections.
In an interview with 263Chat the Executive Director of the ERC Tawanda Chimhini stated that, “Only 360 000 people have registered out of the 1.3 million eligible voters living in Harare hence the move to try and encourage young people to vote via the urban music culture.”
“At the moment Mashonaland East and West have the highest numbers of registration and this rate the decision on who gets to rule the country will be made by other voters except those of harare.”
The show will be starting at 12 noon to 12 am and admission is free with the only requirement being a registration slip.
Meanwhile voter registration is still ongoing up to the 15th January 2018 when the voters role is expected to be gazetted.
