Kwekwe-born Australia-based musician, Cozzy Kozile will be launching his debut album titled Uchandifunga on 19 September at Bar Rouge. The launch is set to be graced by a buffet of local music talent in hip-hop, Sungura and Zimdancehall.
Kozile, who moved to Australia in 2013 says he decided to rope in some of the hottest names outside his Afro-Jazz genre because he only wants to bring people together.
“I have an assorted line up of supporting acts to my launch because I feel music is not about genres, music is a feeling and what is important is bringing people together and socialise,” he said.
Two days later, Kozile will head down to his home town, Kweke, where he will host a soccer tournament before performing, as a way of giving back to the community.
“I’m trying to give back to the community I grew up in, they raised me well and it is now time to thank them and assure them that they have a son who remembers them. As a result, I will host a soccer tournament at Mbizo Stadium on 21 September before performing that night. Admission will be free and I am planning to make this an annual event,” said the crooner.
The album launch will be graced by Enzo Ishall, Stunner, Baba Harare, Sulumani Chimbetu among many others.
Kozile already has four singles, Ndidaire, Kurera Bere, Zvirimudzimba and Matiregerera which features Carlos Green.
