Another 263Chat stringer scoops award

263Chat stringer, Pretty Chavango, scooped a top Zimbabwe United Nations Association (ZUNA) award for the outstanding participation towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at a ceremony held in Harare recently.

The awards which were held at United Nations Information Centre, saw Chavango, who is also Media Institute of Southern Africa Secretary General for Harare Province walking away with a trophy and a certificate.

This comes just two months after she won a Youth Empowerment and Transformation Trust (YETT) award for the best community journalist reporting on youth related issues.

Speaking to this reporter, Chavango said that winning the award motivated her to continue researching and writing in-order to advance her reporting skills.

“It feels awesome to know that your efforts are being recognized especially on such important global issues such as SDGs,” she added.

ZUNA President, Mr. Fischer Chiyanike, said his organisation would continue working towards boosting the partnership between the media and development.

He added that Chavango deserved the award, for she excelled in communicating SDGs.

Chavango is the third 263Chat stringer to receive a top award after Watmore Makokoba was awarded with the country`s prestigious environmental reporting award while Agnes Gudza received an award for energy reporting.
