Just In: Warrant of Arrest for ‘Critically Ill’ Marry Mubaiwa

Mary Mubaiwa, the estranged wife to the Vice President and health minister, Constantino Chiwenga has been slapped with a warrant of arrest after she failed to appear in court for the commencement of her trial on Monday.

Mubaiwa is facing charges of assaulting her child minder during the period she was fighting for the custody of her children with Chiwenga.

Mubaiwa’s  lawyer, Beatrice Mtetwa told the court that she, Mubaiwa, is critically ill at home as the reason why she failed to attend the court.

Allegations are that there was an altercation between Marry and the maid, Delight Munyoro over the custody of the couple’s children.

Munyoro was reported to have gone to school to pick up the former couple’s children, but clashed with Marry who also wanted access.

Munyoro reported the matter at Borrowdale Police Station leading to Marry’s arrest.

Marry has other pending cases before the courts after her ex-husband reported her to the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) for money laundering, externalization and fraud.
