Sungura music maestro and seasoned hit maker, Enzo Ishall will headline the inaugural #TheCRAFT event which will be held this Saturday at the Harare Gardens.
The festival, hosted by public health social movement organization, SAYWHAT, seeks to identify and nurture upcoming artists who are championing social problems including HIV/AIDS, Gender based violence, child marriages, teen pregnancies, alcohol abuse among others.
A total of 36 youths drawn from the country’s 10 provinces in the recently concluded, The CHASE competition will tussle it out for the national prize.
The CRAFT is running under the theme “Amplifying Young People’s Voices on Sexual Reproductive Health and Gender Based Violence through Art
With just two days to go before the all-important festival, The Craft, our stakeholders have promised that they will be providing free medical services during the event on Saturday.
Macheso and Enzo will be joined by Freeman who is still bubbling after releasing a new album. Another top female musician, Anita Jackson will also headline the event.
To spruce up the day, some of our stakeholders including the National Aids Council (NAC), Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council (ZNFPC) will offer free services to youths who will grace the event.
“NAC will be there to showcase what we do which includes HIV/AIDS prevention, condom use. We will be sharing with young people who will be visiting the festival on treatment, care and support. Basically, we will be imparting knowledge on anything to do with HIV/AIDS,” NAC said.
Benevolence MaKhumalo from ZNFPC added that they will be offering family planning services, HIV testing and correct use of condoms.
“It is going to fun and we hope to see all the youths on Saturday.”
