CYALA attracts international delegates to Brisbane for 3 day Conference

The first ever ‘Love Being African Gathering’ will bring together global business leaders, students and young professionals, between 1-3 April. The conference will be held in Brisbane at the University of Queensland’s St Lucia Campus. It will consist of 3 days of thought provoking keynotes, panel discussions and workshops on personal branding, entrepreneurship and leadership.

The Director of Multicultural Affairs Queensland Julie McDougall will open the ceremony on the 1st April followed by a great line up of speakers including a keynote session fromworldrenowned international guest, Nkosana Moyo: Executive Chair of the Mandela Institute for Development Studies (MINDS).

Mr Moyo is passionate about the objectives of the conference and the growth CYALA has achieved in such a short space of time. In a promotional video where he announced he would be speaking at the conference, Mr Moyo expressed his excitement to fly in from South Africa and share his insight and the work he does with MINDS.

The video was first showcased at an event CYALA hosted two weeks ago, at the Commonwealth Banks flagship branch in Brisbane. Audience members widely received Mr Moyos message with a standing ovation and excitement for what’s to come in April.

Another highlight speaker attending this conference is Deng Adut: who has made several headlines for his remarkable story of once being a refugee from Sudan, who was exposed to the harsh realities of war, terror and not having a safe place to sleep at night.

Today Mr Adut now serves as a lawyer, a promotion video that Western Sydney University covered on him went viral on YouTube receiving well over 2 million views,  touching the hearts of many Australians.

We believe stories such as Mr Aduts are worth telling to inspire the masses of young Africans living in Australia to reach for more.

As the days draw nearer, tickets are selling fast and only 80 spots remain out of 200. This would not have been possible without the support of delegates and proud sponsors including; Nandos, Brisbane Marketing, Impact Academy and The University Of Queensland to name a few.
