Zimbabwe People First open to coalition

Zimbabwe People First leader Joice Mujuru said she is open to forming a coalition with parties that have a common cause as hers.

Mujuru said this at Meikles hotel where she was addressing diplomats, church leaders journalists and business executives  during her maiden  press briefing as the leader of the Zimbabwe people First.

“We will stand by and support all those that believe in what we stand for: peace, freedom, democracy and prosperity for all. To this end this end we will strive to ensure a coming together and meeting of minds on this vision.

“To this end we will encourage and promote dialogue amongst all like-minded organizations . To this end we will support a convergence of minds and views under an objective to attain peace freedom, democracy and prosperity for all,” she said.

She however refuted claims that she has been meeting with MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai  for convergence purposes.

“Regai nditaure ndichiti handisati ndaonana  naVaTsvangirai kubva patakaparadzana muhurumende yemubatanidzwa

“Isu hatirambi kutaura nevamwe vane pfungwa dzakafana nesu,” said Mujuru while confirming her availability in case of a coalition.

Commenting on the skeptics who doubt People First project as an offshoot of Zanu PF Mujuru said, “People First is a new entity, with new values and followers from every political party in Zimbabwe, including those who had never joined any political party before, from  every political province and ethnicity

“We are the people and what brings us together, all of us is the desire to transform and build  a better Zimbabwe . We are not a one simple woman party. What we are, is a party with one people centre of power,” she said.
