Zanu PF Youth League Burns Over Corrupt Cartel List

Confusion has reigned in the ruling Zanu PF youth league following the release of a list of business people accused of bleeding the economy by Deputy Secretary for Youth Affairs Lewis Matutu and Youth League National Commissar Godfrey Tsenengamu.

Addressing journalists at a private venue today, Deputy Secretary for Youths Lewis Matutu and his National Commissar Godfrey Tsenengamu said they could not keep quite while things get out of hand in the country hence their move to name and shame the people they say were responsible for the economic mess in the country.

“We come as citizens of Zimbabwe who are worried by the turn of events in our country. Looking at the future of our kids and grandchildren we were satisfied that they will one day curse us for letting them down. Things are getting out of hand while we smile,” said Tsenengamu.

Matutu said the problems in the country had nothing to do with political parties but is something to do with the future.

“Our problems have nothing to do with political parties. It is something to do with our future. We are prepared to relinquish our posts (as youth executive members) as individuals we believe President Mnangagwa needs genuine support. There are people who are stealing and hiding,” he said.

The Zanu PF Youth League did not take long to hit back, dissociating the organ from Matutu and Tsenengamu’s remarks.

“We dissociate ourselves from on-going presser by Cde Matutu & Cde Tsenengamu. Views expressed don’t represent ZANU PF Youth League but personal opinions. We urge anyone with incriminating evidence against anyone to approach lawful authorities & responsible agencies for actioning,” reads a tweet posted by the Youth League.

Another Zanu PF youth member Tafadzwa Mugwadi immediately rebuked the youth league saying their actions of dissociating from the duo was uncalled for.

“Stop this game colleagues. This tweet is uncalled for. I have my reservations to some of the things they raised esp on sanctions and corruption but their call for an end to corruption cannot be dismissed without introspection. Lets create enough space within for discourses,” said Mugwadi.
